Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara born February 28, 1948) is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. She has appeared on television, film, musical theatre , and solo concerts, as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans over six decades. She is an acclaimed Broadway performer. She has won seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) in addition to nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway role.



 



 Peters is widely recognized as the most prominent interpreter of the works by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
